Useful flexibility, without the clutter

Every feature below is already part of the converter.

Flexible CSV & TXT

Recognizes common headings, delimiters, quoted CSV fields, and structured TXT answer styles.

Automatic detection

Finds question text, answer choices, and answer keys, with mapping when a CSV is uncertain.

Six Moodle question types

Advanced CSV supports Multiple Choice, True/False, Short Answer, Numerical, Essay and Description in one file.

Flexible fractions

Calculates Basic CSV fractions automatically or preserves explicit partial-credit and negative fractions from Advanced CSV.

XML validation

Reparses and checks the generated Moodle XML before the download becomes available.

Practical settings

Shuffle answers, generate question names, control source-number removal, capitalize answers, and choose Moodle answer choice labels.

UTF-8 & non-Latin text

Preserves accented text and writing systems including Arabic, Hebrew, CJK, Cyrillic, and Greek.

Basic and Advanced CSV

Start simply or include Moodle feedback, marks, categories, display settings, and tags using the same flexible schema.

Moodle compatibility

XML built around Moodle’s documented question format

Tested with Moodle 4.5.13 and Moodle 5.2.2, including real Moodle imports and round-trip verification.

UniQuiz creates UTF-8 Moodle XML for Multiple Choice, True/False, Short Answer, basic Numerical, Essay and Description items, then validates the generated structure before download. Other Moodle versions and configurations should be verified in the environment where the questions will be used.

UniQuiz is an independent product. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Moodle or Moodle HQ and does not use the Moodle logo.
